KRONK Softball Mini-Grant Form
What is the Softball Program:
The Softball program provides an opportunity for our community to lead a healthy active lifestyle.
Through mini grants that are made available by the kronk Gym Foundation for our adult community, we feel that this impacts the entire community. To have the adults of the community leading healthy active lifestyles this in turn begins to mold our youngsters of the community. Leading by example is how this will be fulfilled. These mini grants are to be used towards the Community Softball Registration Fee or Pay it forward Dollars, which can be used for a community project that impacts the lives of youth through creating awareness and promoting a healthy active lifestyle. Both include T-Shirts with Name, Number and Hats for a Community Softball Team and participation party at end of the year.
Who Can Apply for Mini Grant: Any Male or Female over the age of 18 yrs old.
Why We Created This Program:
In 2011 Kronk Gym Foundation sponsored a ASA Softball team in the City of Novi, MI with a seasonal record of 13 straight losses and 1 win. The night of the playoff championships the team exploded and went 4-0 and won the " 2011 Division Championship", over the course of 6 months playing in both Summer and Fall leagues we had a roster of 66 friends, family, board members, neighbors, boxing coaches, amateur & professional fighters, including Hall of Fame Trainer, Emanuel Steward and Hall of Fame, World Professional Boxing Champion, Thomas Hearns. We found that playing softball gives us an opportunity to support each other and have fun while living a healthy active lifestyle, we want to share and open this experience up to the rest of the community as we feel it has made a difference in our lives. We now have 4 teams as of June 2012.
